Many people ask me, “why did you become a social worker?”  From as early as I can remember, I believed in being kind to others, treating them with dignity and respect, and using humor when appropriate.  I was also fortunate enough to have a parent who was a case worker for the Department of Social Services.  As a child, her stories of helping children and how that made her feel had a very large impact on me.  As my journey through life continued, I came to appreciate how being supportive and being supported can make such an amazing difference in someone’s life..  It helped galvanize my passion for helping others, grow my own empathy for people needing help, and motivate me to gain the education and experience to make being of service to others a reality.  Now, I can’t imagine not being a social worker (therapist)!  It is what I feel I was meant to do.

Today, I am passionate about my clients’ well being, excited about helping people make positive changes in their lives, and providing the support, tools, and knowledge to help them realize their full potential.  I am also very grateful to all my clients, past and present, for allowing me the privilege of sharing their lives with me, and for how much they have taught me over the years.  I am mindful of the need for complete confidentiality and for creating a safe and nurturing environment so that my clients can get the most out of the therapeutic experience.  If this resonates with you,  and you think I can be of help, please give me a call (516-522-0008) or email me.  I look forward to communicating with you.
